Build to suit

Where do we build, and how does finding land work?

Pre-approval comes first. Your budget, available land and zoning help shape where you can build in Arizona.

Land & Homes Arizona home

The short answer

We can build in your preferred Arizona area—from Eloy in the south to Prescott and Flagstaff in the north—not just our featured communities. Choose from our existing lots or land you find yourself. Start with pre-approval; then we narrow down areas based on your budget, available land, and zoning. Each lot must be suitable for your home.

Start with pre-approval

Before we narrow down locations or select land, connect with our preferred mortgage brokers for pre-approval. This establishes a budget so the land search starts with options that fit your financing, rather than a location that may put the full project out of reach.

Choose from our lots—or find your own

You can choose from existing lots we have available or find land yourself. If you already own land, we can discuss building there too. Every property still needs to be reviewed for suitability; owning or finding a lot does not automatically mean a home can be placed on it.

Let budget and availability guide the area

Tell us which Arizona areas interest you. With your pre-approval budget in hand, we can explore which areas have suitable land available. The budget needs to account for the land, home and required site work—not just the purchase price of the lot. Our featured Rio Verde and Paulden communities are starting points, not the only areas to consider.

Check zoning before choosing a lot

Available land must also allow the proposed home. We review the parcel’s zoning and relevant placement requirements before moving forward. Access, utilities and any property restrictions also need a site-specific review. Options depend on what is available and permitted, so we cannot promise that every preferred area or lot will work.

Then meet with the builder

Once you are pre-approved and a suitable land option has been identified, come into our Scottsdale office to sit down with the builder. Together, we go over your floor plan, finishes and project details for the property you are considering.
